A Resource for the Classroom
Hooked! has eight separate units, making separate timetabling of each section possible. On the 'CD for Teachers', you will find lesson plans with a professional sound recording of the full script, including the songs and sound effects, so that each class will be able to listen and focus on the meaning before attempting to sight-read the script.
'Hooked!' is a fantastic language arts resource, covering all the teaching points and tackling the important drug awareness issues.' Susan Smith, primary teacher
'Watch Out! Drugs' is an interactive guide included in the 'CD for Teachers' (Primary section) and includes Fact Files, games and classroom activity sheets to print and copy.
The Assembly
The assembly format lasts for approximately 20 minutes and uses five of the songs from the full-length production. This is ideal for schools to perform on parents' nights supported by invited guests, eg police officers, health promotions, who wish to inform parents about the issues covered in the play. The captivated audience learns first-hand about drugs issues, ensuring parents and friends have the chance to find out what is being taught about drugs and encouraging further discussion in the home.
'Instead of speaking to a handful of parents attending a drugs parents' evening, I found myself speaking to 140!'

The Full Length Production
The full-length production, lasting approximately 60 minutes, includes 9 original songs and tells the story of a young clubber who falls into a coma after a night out. The character is forced to examine the consequences of his/her decisions and to think about how things could have been different.
The comprehensive pack has been designed for ease of use for school productions, encouraging flare, creativity and flexibility to captivate audiences of families and friends.
'Hooked!' can be staged with the minimum of props, scenery and costumes. However, your production can be as extravagant as you wish and pupils can be involved in their own production first-hand. The script is easy to follow and gives suggestions for basic direction.
Performing the musical is a fantastic way to involve parents and guardians in the pupils' learning when invited in to form an audience for the production.
