It's A Jungle Out There! is a lively, upbeat, Internet Safety musical for Upper Primary children to perform. The package includes everything you need to produce either an assembly or an end of term musical production - except, that is, children, a few props and costumes! Don't worry if you've never undertaken anything like this before, as we've included full stage directions to help you bring your production to life. Don't worry if none of the children are budding soloists, because all the children can sing together. The important thing is to get them performing, singing and having fun while they learn how to stay safe on the Internet. What's included? The Assembly
The assembly format lasts for approximately 15 minutes and uses four of the songs from the full-length production, teaching children important Internet Safety rules to help them make the most of their time online.
The Full Length Production
The full-length production, lasting approximately 45 minutes, includes 11 original songs and tells the story of a young rabbit called Warren and his quest to find out more about the World Wide Web.
There are six main parts in this format and up to 27 minor speaking parts, although 'It's A Jungle Out There!' can be performed with only 12 children, making it suitable for classes of all sizes.
As well as teaching Internet Safety rules, this format supports both the Scottish 5-14 Curriculum and the National Curriculum as it encourages children to investigate issues such as bullying, making friends, building confidence and self-esteem.
No time for a performance?
Don't worry! Even if you do not have enough time to produce a performance, reading through the script and playing the music can benefit the children enormously. The songs and the story can provide an opportunity for a teacher to ask some thought provoking questions and suggested discussion points are provided within the package.

No Performance Licence required!
There is no requirement for schools to purchase a licence to perform It's A Jungle Out There! Also, you may photocopy the script and the sheet music for use within your school.
