D Wardlaw ChM FRCS Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon says:
‘This is an excellent educational show that presents the ergonomics of back care. Most acute episodes of back pain can almost certainly be avoided by following very simple rules at home, at school and in the work place. This show says it all! I thoroughly recommend it as an educational and entertaining presentation of how to avoid back pain’
In Schools and Colleges of Education
Children and young people don’t like to be told how to carry their school bag, how to sit at their desks or watch television. However this play grabs their attention by its humour as they become involved in the play. They see models of their back build out of a traffic cone, a corset and a coat hanger. They look at the inside of a crunchie in a new light and learn the benefits of a healthy diet for lifelong, strong, healthy bones.
What the children said:
"I thought your show was the best show I have ever seen."
"I liked the bit where you made models of the spine with fish boxes and sponges."
"We have all started to sit up straight. It was hard at first but we did it."
"I now know the spine is more important than I thought. ...it was much better than coming and saying ‘don’t bend your back or you’ll regret it."
