Advice on doorstep dangers from strangers for elderly

The potential dangers senior citizens face if they open their front doors to strangers have been highlighted in a series of short sketches currently playing to audiences in Aberdeen.

The show is the result of a collaboration between the Senior Citizens Assistance Network (Scan) and Aberdeen-based theatre company, Live Wire Productions. It aims to help pensioners deal with door-step cheats and bogus workmen by highlighting the risks involved in letting strangers into the home.

It is hoped that by increasing awareness, the people who prey on vulnerable members of society will eventually find it difficult to operate in the city.

There's Somebody at the Door will be performed twice daily at Scan's Older and Wiser event which is running at the AECC until October 15.
