The Wheel of Science Branches Out

(Aberdeen: 21 st March 2006) Aberdeen-based theatre in education company, Live Wire Productions, is celebrating a successful week of touring North East primary schools with 'The Wooden Wheel of Science', a brand new show developed for National Science Week with funding from Aberdeen City Council's Home Energy Department.

Presented by a couple of playful woodland gnomes, 'The Wooden Wheel of Science' is a fun, interactive game show where the characters challenge young audiences to spin the wheel and answer questions on the theme of energy conservation, trees and the environment.

To round off the week, the Live Wire team performed their popular 'Wheel of Science' at a Science Discovery Day at Aberdeen's Satrosphere to celebrate National Science Week. They presented four environmental shows on different themes, including renewable energy, waste and recycling.

Vanessa Chew of Live Wire Productions said, "Thanks to Aberdeen City Council's Home Energy Department, we are delighted to add the 'Wooden Wheel of Science' to our repertoire. After such a successful week, I am sure it will prove to be a valuable resource to primary schools."

The Headteacher at Banchory Devenick Primary School said: "Our children thought the show was wonderful."
