Pupils spin the jobs wheel at exhibition

Thousands of North-east school children attended a game show with a difference.

The 4,600 second-year pupils were taking part in the event to find out whether they were interested in a career in the energy industry.

Shell was one of 30 organisations taking part in the Careers Scotland event at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.

The four-day event was run by Aberdeen-based theatre in education company Live Wire Productions. They challenged pupils to spin the wheel and answer questions designed to encourage them to explore a wide variety of energy industry career options.

Margaretha Simpson, or Shell UK's External Affairs Department, said: “There are some wonderful career opportunities in the energy industry and Shell is delighted to assist in making young people aware of the options available to them.”

Cults Academy guidance teacher, Mr Parks, said: “It was a really lively presentation, with a good balance between entertaining the kids and giving them the facts.”
