Live Wire Productions rounded off a highly successful drugs education week last Friday, February 10, following a tour of Aberdeen city schools.
The Aberdeen-based theatre in education company has visited six primary schools with a brand new Drugs Wheel of Science show, encouraging P5 classes to explore the potential dangers of legal drugs as well as illegal drugs. Developed with funding from Aberdeen City's Drug Strategy Fund and in consultation with Grampian Police, the Drug Wheel of Science is a fun-filled game show led by two mischievous characters, Ali and Nic, who represent Alcohol and Nicotine. Eager young audiences took turns to spin the wheel and answer questions about foodstuffs, medicines, alcohol, volatile substances and smoking.
Vanessa Chew of Live Wire Productions said: “We are very grateful to Grampian Police for their invaluable help in developing the programme.”
Sandra Brown, Education Adviser to Grampian Police, said: “This is an excellent interactive show.”
